Former Tech Director Dismissed Over Allegations

The director of the Digital Technological Agency of Chiapas, Marco Zavaleta, was removed from his position as head of the Directorate of Technological Infrastructure and Communications due to allegations of harassment involving two minors. Zavaleta was detained to conduct the relevant investigation. The general director of the Agency, Jovani Salazar, strongly condemned Zavaleta's behavior and committed to collaborating with the Women's Prosecutor's Office in the investigation to clarify the facts and assist the affected families.

In a statement, Salazar expressed: "To the families and the affected minors, we express our total institutional, moral, and humanitarian support to provide the necessary assistance and accompaniment." He also emphasized the Agency's willingness to collaborate with the relevant authorities to clarify the responsibilities involved.

The incidents occurred in a shopping plaza in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, where Zavaleta approached two girls aged 14 and 15, telling them they were "very pretty." In response, the minors called their relatives, who confronted the man, challenged him, and recorded the situation. Subsequently, Zavaleta was detained by the police.

In response to this situation, the appointment of Elí Santos Rodríguez as the new head of the Directorate of Technological Infrastructure and Communications was announced. Santos Rodríguez, a doctor in Physics specialized in various areas, was designated to occupy the position previously held by Zavaleta.
